Port Talbot Railway and Docks Company
A line running 16 miles from the existing docks to the Llynvi Valley, and the Great Western line in the Garw Valley. It opened in 1897-98 and was extended to join the Ogmore Valley and the South Wales Mineral and the Whitworth Railways. The lines passed to the Great Western Railway in 1922.
Original capital £60,000 in £10 shares and £174,000 in loans. Ogmore Valley extension capital of £210,000 in shares and £70,000 loans. South Wales Mineral capital £120,000 in shares and £40,000 loans. A further £300,000 and £100,000 raised respectively in 1899 and £120,000 and £40,000 in 1907.
Total Capital £630,000 in ordinary shares, £600,000 in preference shares and £460,520 in loans.
