Incorporated on 20th May 1825. A 22 mile plate railway line which opened in 1836, carrying traffic from ironworks and mineral mines in the Mid Wales area. It was re-incorporated in 1861 and bought by the Brecon and Merthyr Railway in 1863.
Original capital £47,100 in shares and £20,000 in loans. Capital after re-incorporation £100,000 in £100 shares and £33,300 in loans.
