Shrewsbury and North Wales Railway Company
Incorporated in 1862. A line running nearly 14 miles between Westbury and Llanymynach, connecting the Shrewsbury and Welshpool and the Oswestry and Newtown Railways. It amalgamated with the Shrewsbury and Potteries Junction in 1866 and was thus re-named, and opened in this year.
Original capital £90,000 in shares of £10 each, and loans of £30,000. Increased by £60,000 and £20,000 in 1863; £300,000 and £99,000 in 1864; £100,000 and £33,000 in 1865, and £80,000 and £26,000 in 1866.
