Union Canal Company of Pennsylvania

Chartered in 1811 to revive and continue the plans for a canal connecting the Schuylkill and Susquehanna rivers by the Schuylkill and Susquehanna Canal Company but work did not commence until 1821. Opened in 1828. Closed in 1885.
