La PLatense Flotilla Company Limited
Originally incorporated in Le Havre, France, as La Platense Compagnie des Chargeurs in 1882, it was a French-Scottish arrangement with three French-built vessels and four paddlers left on the hands of the Denny of Dumbarton shipyard in 1883 after their Argentine buyers cancelled their orders. The company was reincorporated in Glasgow in 1886 with Peter Denny of the William Denny & Bros shipyard as chairman to run the steamers on the rivers of Argentina and Uruguay. Competition forced the company into liquidation in 1891 and much of the assetts were acquired by Nicolas Mihanovich y Compania.
Capital £1,000,000 in shares of £10.
